Col. (Ret.) Dr. Ephraim Lavie

Dr. Ephraim Lavie, IDF colonel (ret.) is the Director of the Tami Steinmetz Center for Peace Research at the Tel Aviv University, and Research Fellow at The Moshe Dayan Center for Middle Eastern and African History. He received his PhD from the Tel Aviv University for his thesis “The Palestinians in the West Bank: Patterns of Political Organization under Occupation and Self-Rule”. While in the IDF he served as Advisor on Arab Affairs for the Israeli Civil Administration in the West Bank and as Head of the Palestinian Desk in the Military Intelligence Research Division. In addition, served as adviser to the head of the Israeli delegation for negotiations on the final status agreement with the Palestinians (2000). Dr. Lavie has edited the book published by Tel Aviv University, Israel and the Arab Peace Initiative (2010), and he is co-writer [with Mr. Henry Fishman] of The Peace Process: Seventeen Plans in Ten Years – An Assessment of the Initiatives to Resolve the Israeli Palestinian Conflict Over the Past Decade, published by the Palestine Center for Strategic Studies and the Peres Center for Peace (2010).
